Loren McDougall joined Birch Creek Capital in 2025 as the Head of Research. Loren has 16 years’ experience in municipal asset management where she has specialized in high yield credit research, operational restructurings, and debt workouts. Loren joins Birch Creek from Northern Trust Asset Management in Chicago, where she was focused on investment research and strategic growth initiatives for the bank’s municipal bond team. Prior to Northern Trust, Loren was based in Newport Beach as a Vice President and Municipal High Yield Research Analyst at PIMCO, where she was primarily responsible for the coverage of performing and nonperforming healthcare assets and sourcing new deal flow.

Loren began her career with Wasmer Schroeder in 2009 and ultimately led the merger of the firm’s separate account municipal credit research process within Charles Schwab Asset Management between 2020 and 2021. She has a BS in Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University and MS in Legal Studies from Cornell Law School. Loren is a CAIA charterholder.
